Background

Summary

I have worked in the non-profit sector for the past 15 years following an academic career in political science. Over these years, I have led and contributed to research and evaluation projects involving pre-K through grade 12 education.

I have the demonstrated capacity to shape and develop long-term, large-scale projects from conception to implementation and the ability to convene large groups of diverse participants and build consensus around complex issues. I am a strategic thinker who translates innovative agendas into actionable plans and an effective leader who thrives on the opportunity to make a difference. I engage in all facets of a project to ensure challenges are dealt with and needs are met. I have international research and travel experience and bring excellent analytic, writing, research, evaluation, and inter-personal skills to all my work.

My current work as Project Director for Getting on Track Early for School Success brings together teams of researchers, practitioners and statisticians to understand the complex set of supports that are needed to enable young children of all social, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds to be prepared to succeed academically and in other aspects of their lives.

the black ink pen's love

Hyde Park Poetry

sharp little bill,
it pecks far
and deep to North chapel Hill
and won't pause.
.
It lurks day and night,
Echoing the voices of both black and white.
.
the block ink pen knows:
only her embrace
produces promises,
Russian, Dutch, French, British, English...
.
It has the Sea's blue,
and the Cloud's white.
.
Passionate and Feverish,
It abosrbs all human beauty,
blind and childish,
it strives
for blue prints beyond thinking obesity.
